JORGE PARDO – flute, composition
STEFANIA TALLINI – piano, composition

The recent collaboration between Jorge Pardo – renowned flutist and saxophonist from Madrid, known for his work with Chick Korea and Paco de Lucia – and Stefania Tallini, a brilliant Italian pianist, composer, and arranger, opens up to new and captivating sounds through a surprising fusion of jazz, classical music, Brazilian music, and flamenco. These musical genres represent the rich background of the two musicians.

The result is a concert rich in nuances, where the two musicians present their own compositions and pay homage to artists such as Chick Corea, Paco De Lucia, and Camaron De La Isla, with whom Jorge Pardo has collaborated extensively.

Various influences converge in this project, telling different stories that merge into a common project of the highest artistic and musical interest, guaranteed by two highly esteemed artists.

Jorge Pardo, the renowned flutist and saxophonist known for his work with Chick Corea and Paco De Lucia, draws musical inspiration from numerous artists and diverse styles. Born in Madrid, he began his musical studies at the age of fourteen at the Real Conservatorio de Madrid. From the outset, he was drawn to the sounds of jazz, which he diligently cultivated, quickly establishing himself as one of the most skilled musicians on the national scene. In the 1970s, he delved into flamenco, collaborating with Paco de Lucía and Camarón de la Isla, whom he accompanied on various world tours and with whom he recorded numerous albums. With a career spanning fifty years, he has collaborated with internationally renowned artists, toured all five continents, and recorded albums with some of the world’s greatest musicians, including Chick Corea, Paco De Lucía, Nana Caymmi, Wagner Tizo, Vince Mendoza, Camaron De La Isla, Pedro Ruy Blas, Pedro Iturralde, and Gil Goldenstein, to name a few. In 2013, he received the “Best European Musician” award from the prestigious French Jazz Academy. In 2015, he won the “National Award for Contemporary Music” from the Spanish Ministry of Education and Culture, and in 2020, he won a Grammy for his album with Chick Corea and the Spanish Heart Band.

Stefania Tallini boasts a brilliant career as a pianist, composer, and arranger in jazz, but her classical training and passion for Brazilian music give her a unique artistic sensibility. Her music is a convincing fusion of jazz, classical, and Brazilian music, a kaleidoscope of sounds that she has synthesized into her own musical language, making her one of the most interesting and original Italian musicians in the music scene today. Her collaborations include Jaques Morelenbaum, Gregory Hutchinson, Gabriel Grossi, Guinga, Stefano Di Battista, Franco Piana, Dino Piana, Gabriele Mirabassi, Roberto Gatto, Dario Deidda, Javier Girotto, Maurizio Giammarco, Roberto Taufic, Corrado Giuffredi, Alessandro Carbonare, and many others. Her discography includes several recordings as a guest artist and 12 albums under her own name, featuring compositions of her own, some of which have been chosen, interpreted, and recorded by great international artists (Enrico Pieranunzi, John Taylor, Alessandro Carbonare), and performed outside of Italy as well: at the Festival Delle Nazioni, Cité de La Musique in Strasbourg, Universidad De Las Artes (Havana, Cuba), Pharos Arts Foundation (Cyprus), Westerbeck Recital Hall in Pasadena (California), New Performing Arts Hall at Pasadena City College (California). She has collaborated theatrically with Mariangela Melato and Michele Placido. Her composition “New Life” has been included among the compositions of the most important Italian jazz musicians, collected in the Italian Real Book. She has been invited to perform multiple times as part of the Concerti del Quirinale and at prestigious jazz festivals in Italy, France, Germany, Lithuania, the United States, Israel, and Brazil.
